Loading
The design structural loadings are specified on the Design Loads tab, the standard stabilised vertical loadings applied between ducts: Walkways: 1.50kN/m, Fingers: 1.00kN/m
Freeboard
The system has a minimum unladen freeboard of 500mm.
Structure
A lighter construction for the less extreme conditions experienced in sheltered and inland waterways. Each component has a welded steel frame structure comprising standard sections and a specially rolled edge section. The frames are hot dip galvanised in single sections to BS EN ISO 1461:1999.
Hardwood decking with a machined anti slip profile is provided as standard. All hardwoods are supplied from certified sustainable sources. Intermarine is currently the only UK pontoon manufacturer certified to supply FSC certified hardwoods (Certificate No SGS - COC - 1639). Forestry Stewardship Council rules are a world wide standard and are supported by environmental bodies including WWF and Greenpeace.
In addition to hardwoods a range of alternative decking options are available including, treated softwoods, synthetic boards manufactured from re cycled plastics and anti slip deck panels with a bonded aggregate surface.
Cleats
Walkways are designed for fitting Intermarine standard cast aluminium cleats at 1m centres. Fingers up to 7m long have 4 No. cleats fitted as standard and fingers of 8m and longer have 6 No. The cleats have a 2.5 tonne breaking load. Intermarine heavy duty cleats with a breaking load of 5 tonnes can be fitted to the walkway by prior design.
Service Ducts
Service ducts are provided down both sides of all walkways as standard. The duct size is 220x9 0mm deep.
Duct covers are anodised aluminium in 2m sections. A continuous PVC service support tray can be provided in the duct as an optional extra
