Laguna - Overview

Download Detailspdf

Designed for use in marinas with well sheltered locations and for areas with a high risk of corrosion.

We developed Laguna for today's most prestigious marina projects. This modular pontoon system is ideal for sheltered locations where there is a high risk of corrision.

Laguna's structure is aluminium, the decking tiugh and attractive hardwood. As with all Intermarine systems, care has been taken in the development of this integrated range of products and accessories. For example, the Specificationial finger connection has been load tested to failure.

The Laguna System walkways can be fitted with either concrete or polyethylene floats. Polyethylene floats in catamaran arrangement provide exceptionally high stability.

Laguna - Specification

The Laguna pontoon system is a modular design that is suitable for use in coastal marinas or exposed inland waters.

Loading

The structural design loadings are specified on the Design Loads tab. The standard reserve buoyancy is 1.5kN/m applied on the walking surface between ducts.

Freeboard

The system has a minimum unladen freeboard of 500mm.

Structure

Each unit has a welded aluminium structure comprising standard sections and specially commissioned extrusions. The aluminium alloy is 6082T6.

Decking

Hardwood decking with a machined anti slip profile is provided as standard. All hardwoods are supplied from certified sustainable sources. Intermarine is currently the only UK pontoon manufacturer certified to supply FSC certified hardwoods (Certificate No SGS - COC - 1639). Forestry Stewardship Council rules are a world wide standard and are supported by environmental bodies including WWF and Greenpeace.

In addition to hardwoods a range of alternative decking options are available including, treated softwoods, synthetic boards manufactured from re cycled plastics and anti slip deck panels with a bonded aggregate surface.

Laguna - Moorings Options

The Laguna pontoon system is a modular design that is suitable for use in coastal marinas or exposed inland waters.

Moorings Options

Pontoons may be fixed in position by piles, flexible moorings or radius arms.

Piles

This is the preferred method of mooring pontoons.

Standard guides for bolting to the sides of walkways are available with low friction linings for piles with diameters up to 500mm. Special designs for incorporating the piles within the width of the walkway, larger piles or roller bearings can be offered.

Flexible Moorings

Standard connections for chains or ropes ranging from simple brackets to special designs are available.

Radius Arms

Designs using A frames or radius arms have been developed but would be custom designed for each site. This mooring option is commonly used for linear berths in rivers or canals.
